2015 Talk on Environmental Photography

This year the Environmental Photography Exhibition will have a keynote speaker, Grant Collier, and he will be projecting imagery from his book Colorado: Yesterday & Today. He’ll also be showing his images being used by environmental groups trying to create a Greater Canyon Lands National Monument. The exhibition from this years call for entries opens at 5:30 and reception runs from 6:00 PM to 7:15 PM. Beer, wine, and distilled liquor will be served. There will be environmental exhibits, live hawks, and possibly even a live wolf for those in the Eco Expo adjacent to the exhibition to enjoy . All events along with the best of this years film entries will be free to the public Friday, but donations greatly appreciated. Grant will be speaking exactly at 6:30 PM, Friday November 20th, 2015. Grant Collier’s great-great-grandfather was the historic pioneer photographer Joseph Collier. Grant photographed the exact same spots that Joseph had over one hundred years earlier and published them in the book Colorado: Yesterday & Today in 2001.

Grant has authored eight more photography books, including Colorado: Moments in Time, Arches National Park by Day & Night, and Colorado’s National Parks & Monuments. He also produces a yearly Colorado wall calendar, and his photography has been published in magazines across the United States and Europe. Grant’s work has been featured in numerous other media outlets, including CNN.com, NBC, CBS, PBS, WB2, UPN, the Denver Post, and the cover of the Rocky Mountain News. Grant currently owns Collier Gallery in Breckenridge and is represented in galleries throughout Colorado.
